Here's a little world building project based on a simple idea I had : What if meteors were falling constantly, how would people have designed things to still be able to thrive ?
Scroll to see all the environment designs, vehicles and props!
People would have been making those interchangeable metallic "tiles" mainly made out of the melted metal from the fallen meteors.
Dirty/Quick sketches that helped me find some shape language for the houses.
Design Sketches for what the entrance of the village might look like. those "holes" in the tower allow guards to overlook what might be coming their way... Version 001.
Version 002 of the village gate.
Path Leading to the village. The idea here is that the people would have built those protections, when the meteors rains started, 50 years ago.
Thinking of how the people would use meteors as a way to create electricity.
Those blue ribbons would be a cultural "habit" of those people, to bring good luck on their structures.
Idea based on those Japanese bamboo fountains that flips when there full of water. Here, they'd be full of meteors.
Civilian vehicle. Figuring out how civilians could have turned an old taco delivery "tuk-tuk" into a usable vehicle under extreme conditions.
One would be with the use of a giant "shell".
Exploring another idea where the protections would be interchangeable "tiles". If one gets badly damaged, you wouldn't have to change the full "shell".
Dirty sketches, that started the vehicle idea. Showing how the "shell" would lift.
Carrying the design language on new subjects. Boat, Version 001.
Version 002.
Dirty/Quick Sketches to find some interesting shapes for the boat design.
Calm day by the lighthouse. Version 001.
Version 002, more "homemade".
Quick and dirty sketches for the lighthouse.
Wanted to do a view of the city Harbor.. On a peaceful evening, after a long day of fishing.
And to end this art dump, here are the dirty sketches for the buildings, experimenting with different propositions. Thanks for watching!
